Did Man really land on the Moon or was the giant leap for mankind filmed
in a studio somewhere on Earth? The photos and the rest of the evidence
of the landings have been hotly disputed for decades and around 6% of
US citizens believe that they were faked. So what are the 10 most
controversial points about the so called moon landing hoax?
The Waving Flag

| Perhaps the point which seems to point most strongly to the moon
landings being faked is that the US flag appears to move in the wind.
What wind, you might well ask. Those people who say that we have really
stepped onto the lunar surface say that it is moving because it was on
an L shaped pole and was planted firmly into the ground. The lack of air
resistance supposedly caused it to carry on moving. |

| Footprints on the moon’s surface made by the astronauts’ boots? When
there is no moisture in the atmosphere? Evidence of a moon landing hoax,
surely. Well, the theory as to why this happened is that the lack of
weather conditions on the moon leads to a coarse type of sand which
sticks together, rather than what we are used to on Earth. |
The Lack of a Landing Crater

| Another of the controversial points about the moon landing hoax theory
is that while the astronauts left footprints their ship didn’t leave a
crater, despite being a lot heavier. The non moon hoax side of this part
of the theory is that the pressure per foot was not enough to do this
but that it did sent our clouds of fine dust as it settled down. |
Who Was There Before Neil Armstrong?

| Another element of the moon landing conspiracy is that Neil Armstrong
was filmed arriving, despite being the first person to set foot on the
moon. So who filmed him? The official rebuttal is that the lunar module
had the camera in it. |
No Stars in the Sky

| Shouldn’t there be stars in the sky? If we can see them from Earth then
surely the Moon, with no clouds or atmosphere, should be surrounded by
them. Those people who say that the moon landing really happened say
that the landings all happened during daytime hours, so the sun was
stronger than the stars. |
The C Rock

| A rock with the letter C on it? Surely evidence of a moon landing
conspiracy filmed with studio props? This theory has proved harder to
debunk than some others, with one suggestion being that it was a
printing imperfection such as a coiled hair. It sure looks like a
printed C, though. |
The Same Background?

| Moon landing conspiracy theorists point out that there are different
photos of the landings with the same background but apparently taken
miles apart. NASA says that the horizon appears closer on the moon but
not everyone is convinced by this. |
The Layered Crosshairs

| The photos taken on the Moon have crosshairs in them. This is because
the cameras used crosshairs to make them easier to use. So why do some
photos show these crosshairs behind certain objects? Doctored photos or
overexposure caused by copying or scanning? |
The Reflection in the Helmet

| There is a strange reflection of some sort of hanging object shown in an
astronaut’s helmet in one photo. It is really hard to make out but it
has proved mysterious enough to be one of the most controversial parts
of the moon landings hoax theory. |
The Light Sources
 |
How many powerful light sources are there on the Moon? That’s right;
just the Sun. This is why the famous photos with multiple light sources
have been so keenly argued over in the years since they were taken.
