A tragedy happened in St. Petersburg - the canopy of the Sennaya Ploshchad metro station collapsed. 7 people became victims. 

On the last day of the year, an epochal event happened in Russia - President Boris Yeltsin resigned and appointed Vladimir Putin as interim in his place.

On Vosstaniya Square and Ligovsky Prospekt - repair of tram tracks. In 8 years they will finally disappear from here.
